How and Why do Christians read the Bible?

This unit doesn’t particularly emphasise any of the concepts in great depth. It will depend on discussions and questions that are raised by the pupils. There will more than likely be an opportunity to mention Gospel and Kingdom of God.

  • Why is the Bible a best seller?
  • Why are there so many versions of the Bible?

Looking at extracts form the Bible and identify language and content. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Proverbs 30:5 “The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.” Isaiah 40:8 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
