Please complete the activities set below on our current curriculum areas:

Maths: Home Learning

Today we are going to move onto g and Kg. When converting between these units, you are multiplying and dividing by 1000. 

kg to g multiply by 1000.

g to kg divide by 1000.

English: Home Learning

 

Today you are going to explore the meaning of words from the Wizard of Oz. Create a glossary of words on the computer or on a piece of paper. Purplemash 2write is a good programme to use if you wish to do this online. I have attached a link for the story so read chapter 1-3 and gather any words. You should aim for 10-15 words for your glossary. Then find their meanings. 

 

Science: What is light? 

Today we are going to start your next unit which is light. Our task for today is answer the following:

Which is faster, light or sound?

 

How do you know this?

 

What type of ray is light?

 

How fast does light travel?

Please complete the following activities below:

 

Maths: Measure

As we have been looking at length this week, go around your house and estimate the legth of some of the objects you find. Write them down in the appropriate unit e.g a door in metres and cm. When you have don that see if you can convert to just cm. 

English Home learning

Today we are going to watch a clip of our new focus novel. Watch the Wizard of Oz on the attached URL. Use the resource to study the light, sound, colour and camera angle. You could use separate pieces of paper or you could split a piece into 4 quadrants.

Our topic for ths half term is Eucharist or Holy Communion. See the following activities to explore Eucharist!

PSHEE: Home Learning

Our next PSHEE topic is all about recognising unsafe or suspicious content online and what to do about it.

Look at the following scenarios and write down or tell a grown-up what you would do.

 

 

Scenario 1: Discuss and complete the answers.

 

A pop up appears on screen which says, ‘Win free credits for in APP purchase just input card details to prove age’. Your parent’s card is in their purse which you know is on the table down stairs.

 

  • Is there anything suspicious about this? Explain…

 

  • Discuss all the possible actions you could take.

 

 

  • Write what you would do in this situation. Explain in detail. What might happen.

 

Scenario 2: Discuss and complete answer

 

Whilst playing a game, a chat box pops ups talking in a really friendly way about joining their group and sharing numbers as the team are on WhatsApp and Snapchat. They say not to worry as they know Luke your friend. You have a friend call Luke you game with. They ask you to send a picture so you can be added to the team profile. They say you are amazing at the game and would be an asset to have in the team.

 

  • Is there anything suspicious about this? Explain…
  • Discuss all the possible actions you could take.

Write what you would do in this situation. Explain in detail. What might happen

Additional Task: 

  • Reading your home reading book or another book from home.
  • Complete 30 minutes on TTRS.
  • Go onto PurpleMash and choose some education games to play. 
  • Computing: Have a go at creating your own game on 2DIY3D. See if you can give it a purpose like our  online safety games.
