RE: Why do Christians believe Jesus was a great teacher?
1) Remind yourself one of Jesus' parables (stories) called The Good Samaritan by watching the following video:
BBC Two - Watch, Christianity: Friends, Parable of the Good Samaritan (animation)
What message was Jesus trying to give?
What can Christians learn from this story?
What Christian values were shown in the story?
2) Read: The Wise & Foolish Builders
Once, Jesus told a story about two men who decided to build houses. The first man was wise. He built his house on a solid rock. When the rain poured, the rivers rose, and strong winds blew against the house, it stood firm because its foundation was strong.
The second man was foolish. He built his house on sand. When the rain poured, the rivers rose, and the strong winds blew, the house fell with a great crash because its foundation was weak.
Jesus explained that the wise builder is like someone who listens to His teachings and follows them. They have a strong foundation in life. The foolish builder is like someone who hears His teachings but doesn’t follow them—they have nothing solid to rely on when challenges come.

3) Tasks
Reflect: Think about the story of the wise and foolish builders. What does the rock represent? What does the sand represent? Write a short paragraph explaining what you think Jesus was teaching us.
Create: Build a model of a house using materials from around your home. You could use LEGO, cardboard, recycled materials, or even draw a detailed picture of your house.
Test It: Find two different surfaces (one solid like a table and one soft like a pillow or sand). Place your house on each surface and imagine a storm. Describe what happens to your house on each surface.
Share: Bring your model to school, or take a photo and upload it to Purple Mash.
