Snow Day Activities

Reading:

Pleasure read - find a fiction book - read and enjoy - take a photograph of you reading the book in an extreme place eg snow and send in - we can add it to our reading display. 

Record the main events in order using a story board.

Create patterns to learn and write a quiz for a friend.

Enjoy the snow.

Write a description using expanded noun phrases eg bright, cold freezing snow.

 

Write a diary account or a letter to a friend about your day in the snow - please include subordinating conjunctions - although, since, until, when, after, before. 

Remember - capital letters, full stops and conjunctions eg because, so,

Research facts about Hadrian's Wall - produce a non-chronological report. 

 

Geography:

Draw or paint a scene from the Lake District. Look at paintings by Joseph William Turner for inspiration. 

What features can you see?

Go on Google Earth and find images of the Lake District and make a list of physical and human features.
